Shooting fashion – Top fashion photographer Alek gives his best tips for ensuring fashion shoots deliver striking shots.
Dutch fashion photographer Alek has been in the fashion industry for around eight years and has been shooting fashion since 2006. After attending photography school he worked as an assistant before establishing himself as a much sought after photographer with an impressive list of commercial and editorial clients.

To help you practice looking comfortable in front of the camera make a list of the different emotions you want to work on. Go through magazines and find ads that you can really see yourself being cast in. Make sure you are honest with yourself, and not spend time looking into GQ Magazine ads if Parents Magazine is a more appropriate look for you. Urban SIN offers limited free photo shoot session for models on Time For CD basis.
The session will take place in studio and outdoor (Central London), theme of session TBA. Model will receive all photos taken during the session as well as some photos retouched. Photo shoot will take approximately 5 hours and date/time of the session is negotiable – suitable for both sides.
